Dear Living Fuel Family,

Last week on LivingFuelTV, we introduced you to High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) a proven form of exercise that we’ve been speaking and writing about for years.  HIIT is a short duration workout where you go at an all-out effort for a short period, rest, then repeat 7-10 times.  Studies and research are piling up on the remarkable benefits of HIIT.

While you may not be physically ready for an all-out sprint up a staircase, there are steady “steps” you can take toward this effort.  Remember: the journey is the destination!  In fact, start slowly and building fitness over a longer period of time may actually be more beneficial than quicker results.  Consistent and gradual fitness gains tend to re-program your mind and solidify a new, healthy lifestyle that reaps physical benefits for years!

After last week’s episode, we’ve been asked How do I get started safely and in proportion to my fitness level?  The answer is the topic of today’s episode.

Dear Living Fuel Family,

More than body weight or even body fat percentage, overall cardiovascular health (measured by your resting heart rate) is an outstanding indicator of wellness and a peek into what’s happening with your body’s most important muscle. Science has shown that the best way to increase your heart health is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). HIIT is a short duration workout where you go at an all-out effort for a short period, rest, then repeat 7-10 times.

Just like your skeletal muscles strengthen by applying a load, resting, and then repeating, your heart muscle stenghtens similarly. The beauty of HIIT is that these workouts take only a fraction of the time of a conventional workout, plus there’s a limitless variety of movements that you can use! HIIT works for swimming, cycling, elliptical, running, push-ups, boxing, and more.

Cancer: Step Outside the Box with Ty Bollinger Part 4

Dear Living Fuel Family,

Say you work in an office with 30 others, and a co-worker comes down with a nasty cold virus.  A few days later, 4 others have identical symptoms.  However, you and the 25 others are unaffected.  All were exposed to the virus, but only a few succumed to it.  Why?  How does this relate to a much more insidious disease like cancer?

The cure for cancer is to not get it in the first place, similar to the group of employees in our example that avoided the cold virus.  While this concept may sound trite and overly simplistic, there is much truth in it.  Carcinogen is defined as any substance that can cause or aggravate cancer, and there are many carcinogens we know to avoid, such as tobacco smoke, asbestos, and nuclear fallout.  These are obvious to avoid.  Are there others?

We answer those questions today and more in Part 4 of LivingFuelTV’s special series Cancer Step Outside the Box with Ty Bollinger.  Today’s episode is a must-see for those battling cancer, those supporting a loved one in their fight against cancer, or anyone who wants to avoid a cancer diagnosis.  Learn what you can do to help your body evade and fight cancer cells.  We’ll also discuss the importance of nutrition, environment, and movement in living a cancer-free life.

Perhaps someone you love received the test results this week.  Cancer.

Those diagnosed with this dreaded disease face difficult decisions that are literally a matter of life and death.  The first question uttered by a new cancer patient is invariably:  What do I do now?

Today on LivingFuelTV, we address this question head-on continuing our important series, Cancer: Step Outside the Box with Ty Bollinger.  While we are not medical doctors, and we are not providing medical advice, the practical information we share today is critical for cancer patients and their families to carefully examine and thoughtfully consider.

Dear Living Fuel Family,

Just as the number of cancer diagnoses is on the dramatic rise, so is the amount of available information on the disease from prevention to treatment.  Today, on LivingFuelTV, we continue our important series,Cancer Step Outside the Box with Ty Bollinger.  In Part 2, we hear Ty’s moving story of his parents who were both diagnosed, “treated”, and passed away from cancer.  Their tragedies sparked an exhaustive search for treatment alternatives, and a strong passion to inform others of his findings. Once again, it’s our goal in this series to help dispel the fear of cancer while arming you with information to assist you and others in making informed treatment decisions.

Dear Living Fuel Family,

Cancer.

The word strikes fear in the hearts of many, and all of us have been touched by cancer in some way.  Perhaps a family member or loved one passed away from cancer, or a friend has recently been diagnosed with an especially virulent form of this disease.  Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body.  But is a cancer diagnosis a death sentence?

Today on LivingFuelTV, I interview Ty Bollinger, bestselling author of the book Cancer: Step Outside the Box.  Ty’s story is compelling and touching—a story you may well be able to relate.  He lost both his parents to cancer that ignited a fervent search for alternatives to standard cancer treatment.  Ty’s discoveries are absolutely vital information for us all, and important enough to share with those we love.  Consider forwarding this message to a friend or loved one affected in some way by cancer.  It’s our goal in this series to help dispel the fear of cancer while arming you with information to assist you and others triumph in the winnable battle against cancer.

Best Antidepressant Is Not A Drug

Dear Living Fuel Family,

In 2016, conventional medicine’s “solution” to clinical depression frequently includes a top-selling and highly profitable prescription medication.  Browse the side effects of these drugs and they can sound worse that the condition they claim to alleviate!  Just a generation ago, the “prescription” for diagnosed depression was rest and sunshine, both free!

It’s great to see that much study is underway and findings are emerging that reveal a better way to treat clinical depression.  Natural solutions such as Omega-3 fish oil and Vitamin D are showing promising results in lab and, more importantly, in the lives of those battling with debilitating and paralyzing depression.

Today on LivingFuelTV, join me for just three minutes as we discuss and uncover some treatments and ideas to treat depression.  Click on the graphic below to join me and consider forwarding the message to someone you love.

Dear Living Fuel Family,

Here in the United States, typical breakfast food options include grain-based, sugar-infused doughnuts, muffins, pancakes, waffles, biscuits and cereals.  Conventional medicine and media outlets have done a great job of slandering the EGG, linking eggs to high cholesterol and the killer heart disease.  We’ve been unwittingly programmed to associated eggs with risk of dying from heart disease!  Is this actually true?

Findings from new studies are emerging that tell us that egg consumption is actually an indicator of good health!  Today on LivingFuelTV, I’ll look at an important Danish study (the country, not the breakfast pastry) on egg consumption and health markers.  The study’s findings, coupled with a different look at cholesterol, may just have you looking at the much maligned egg in a whole different light.  Click on the graphic below to watch.

Organic vs Conventional

Dear Living Fuel Family,

Are organic foods healthier for you and your family?  Common sense would answer a resounding yes! as organically-grown foods are certified free of pesticides, herbicides and other toxins.  However, reading the conclusions of a study published by Stanford University may have you doubting your choice of an organic apple over the shiny, wax-coated conventional apple.  The study concluded that there is lack of strong evidence to prove that organic foods are healthier than conventional foods.  Hmmm…

Today on LivingFuelTV, we’ll dig deeply into this study and its findings by exploring how the study was actually conducted and who funded it.  Learn what this controversial and much-talked-about study really says about organic versus conventional foods.  Also, you can apply these sound principles as you look intelligently at any health study or health-related news story.  Click on the graphic below to watch.
