Audio Transcription KC: Welcome, this is KC and Monica Craichy, founders of Living Fuel, here to talk to you about the most sophisticated essential fatty-acid supplement on the market today. SuperEssentials Omega-3 EDA. Monica: Now, this is a great product. We’re going to talk about what’s in it, why do I need it, and how do I use it. So, let’s first talk about what is in these. KC: This is an amazing combination of fish from the front side of the food chain. Sardines and anchovies that are purified, ultra-purified, and so you got the front side of the food chain, which is already pure, then they’re ultra-purified, and combined with borage seed oil and rice bran oil to give you full spectrum vitamin E, tocotrienols and tocopherols and the super antioxidant astaxanthin, plus the vitamins D and A from fish. So, it’s an extraordinarily sophisticated essential fatty acid supplement. Monica: Now, why did you combine all of those ingredients? KC: Great question. When you combine borage seed oil, GLA, gamma linolenic acid, with EPA from fish oil, it blocks what’s called the arachidonic acid conversion, and causes it to convert to prostaglandins one and three. What that means is, it has a more of an anti-inflammatory action if you have GLA and EPA together. Monica: Anti-inflammatory. KC: So, this is to balance out those nutrients. And then when you add E’s, like tocotrienols and tocopherols, you’ve now given the ability to block the spoilage of the oils in the human body. See, lipid peroxidation is a real risk when you take delicate oils if you don’t have high enough fat soluble antioxidants. We also have some vitamins D and vitamin A, which also help in the antioxidant area, but if you do a little research, or look at some of our shows we’ve done on vitamin D, you’ll see an extraordinary important nutrient that just about everybody needs to take more of, and so we have the levels of cod liver oil in each cap. Monica: And what about astaxanthin? KC: Astaxanthin is an extradinarily powerful antioxidant, thought to be 50 times more powerful than vitamin E, and so it can cross the blood brain barrier and be an antioxidant for the eyes and so on. Monica: And that’s in algae, right, a red algae? KC: Yes, it is. It’s a tremendous nutrient that most of us need, all of us need. Monica: All right, so. How does one use this? KC: Well, we recommend one, at a minimum, one gel cap per 25 pounds of body weight per day. So, if you’re 200 pounds, that would be eight caps a day. If you have a little baby, you just squeeze part of a cap in their mouth. If it’s a nursing mom, you would take eight plus one for the baby. It’s a pretty good base, if you need more EPA and DHA. Now, another thing that’s very interesting about this product is, you know, research shows you need more DHA, but most products come with an overload of EPA. You’ve got to have EPA, but if you get them to about the same levels, it can be an extraordinary thing, which is, of course, what we have done. We have 120 milligrams of EPA and 120 milligrams of DHA in each cap. Monica: Now, I love this product because as some of you might know, my testimony where I had panic attacks and depression and suicidal thoughts. And in retrospect, I was really rock bottom and I didn’t consume any fish oils. And now, 17 years later, that I’m healthy and I’m strong, I can actually tell in a couple of days if I have forgotten to take my fish oils. I can just kind of tell with my mood, it feels heavier, cloudy. It also can help with memory and your brain cognitive. KC: It is actually a primary fat within the brain. DHA is one of the primary brain fats, so the truth is that this may be the most important supplement that anyone can take. According to the literature, there have been a lot of studies to show that you can make no other changes in your diet and take the right fish oil and extend life, delay disease, enhance performance, optimize weight and so on, so it is really an extraordinary important piece of the puzzle. You’ve seen us talk about our Super Smoothies containing plant-based omega- 3s. Well, if you do any research at all, you’ll find that plant based omega- 3s are very important, but they don’t solve the EPA/DHA portion that comes from animal source like fish. Fish is a primary source.
