Dear Living Fuel Family,

Following up with our LivingFuelTV episode last week with natural fitness expert John Peterson, today we continue exploring the powerfully effective 7 Tiger Moves.  The 7 Tiger Moves are discussed in my book The Super Health Diet: The Last Diet You Will Ever Need! and more detailed in my first book, the bestseller Super Health: 7 Golden Keys to Unlock Lifelong Vitality.  Here’s an excerpt from the chapter entitled Golden Key #3: Exercise:

The Super Health Diet“For years I have been looking for an exercise program I could do and recommend for anyone that would require minimum time and effort and yield maximum results, and here it is.  Despite all the astounding benefits of exercise, I know the reasons most people hold back.  Most of us procrastinate and fear the consequences of what it takes to get in shape, and the truth is that most exercise systems are too hard and intimidating for people.  We also tend to convince ourselves that it will take too much time out of our already over committed days and evenings.  And for many of us, the cost of a club membership or expensive exercise equipment is simply too much.

That’s why I’m thrilled to tell you about a system that is the perfect answer to these common issues.  It is a system that utilizes time-tested body-sculpting Isoflextion™ techniques, along with high tension isometrics that literally allow you to become your own gym.  It is so natural, so simple, and so powerful that it actually heals the body as it energizes it.  You can use it to achieve the level of fitness and vitality you’ve always wanted to have, without joining a gym or buying any equipment or wasting a minute of your day.  It covers every muscle group from your neck to your toes, and you can do these exercises anytime and virtually anywhere.  And best of all, you won’t do anything that compromises your body, causing pain or injury or creating overuse symptoms.”

Dear Living Fuel Family,

Last week on LivingFuelTV, we introduced you to High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) a proven form of exercise that we’ve been speaking and writing about for years.  HIIT is a short duration workout where you go at an all-out effort for a short period, rest, then repeat 7-10 times.  Studies and research are piling up on the remarkable benefits of HIIT.

While you may not be physically ready for an all-out sprint up a staircase, there are steady “steps” you can take toward this effort.  Remember: the journey is the destination!  In fact, start slowly and building fitness over a longer period of time may actually be more beneficial than quicker results.  Consistent and gradual fitness gains tend to re-program your mind and solidify a new, healthy lifestyle that reaps physical benefits for years!

After last week’s episode, we’ve been asked How do I get started safely and in proportion to my fitness level?  The answer is the topic of today’s episode.

Dear Living Fuel Family,

More than body weight or even body fat percentage, overall cardiovascular health (measured by your resting heart rate) is an outstanding indicator of wellness and a peek into what’s happening with your body’s most important muscle. Science has shown that the best way to increase your heart health is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). HIIT is a short duration workout where you go at an all-out effort for a short period, rest, then repeat 7-10 times.

Just like your skeletal muscles strengthen by applying a load, resting, and then repeating, your heart muscle stenghtens similarly. The beauty of HIIT is that these workouts take only a fraction of the time of a conventional workout, plus there’s a limitless variety of movements that you can use! HIIT works for swimming, cycling, elliptical, running, push-ups, boxing, and more.

Are You Functionally Fit?

Functional fitness is for everyone!

This week, has anyone asked you to run wind sprints?  Have your children handed you two dumbbells to curl ten times?  It’s much more likely that you’ve carried bags of groceries from the car, bent down to pick up a stack of documents, or reached for a tool on a high shelf in the garage.  Welcome to functional fitness!

Today on LivingFuelTV, elite fitness trainer Andy O’Brien teaches how you can build your best body—a body that moves efficiently and free of aches, pains, and strains.  You accomplish this by training your body with movements that you do every day.  With functional training, the body strengthens and adapts, growing more efficient to undertake the activities of the day.
