Christian Isakson, a competitor in Ironman Texas, Epic 5 Hawaii and many other grueling races, credits LivingFuel products for giving him the nutrition he needs to succeed.

The Ultraman Canada Championships is a grueling 3-day ultra-endurance event covering 514.5 kilometers (320 miles): Swim – 10 KM, Bike – 420.2 KM, Run – 84.3 KM.

Living Fuel Champion Christian Isakson finished fourth out of a group of 25 elite athletes in the 2013 Ultraman Canada Championships. Isakson is one of the top “extreme” athletes competing today and looks to LivingFuel products to get him to the finish line of some of the toughest races in the world.

“Living Fuel is nutrition that really helped me recover,” Isakson said. “It was necessary to take in clean burning fuel, not only leading into the race itself, but in between stages. Thanks KC for everything!”

Thirty minutes of moderate exercise, five days per week is a good goal for basic fitness.

Compare this 2½ hours of exercise over the course of a week to 70 hours of exercise over just five days—swimming a total of 12 miles, biking 560 miles, and running 131 miles. This is the extraordinary EPIC5 Challenge, held annually on five beautiful Hawaiian Islands.

Today on LivingFuelTV, we continue our popular series Super Human Feat with ultra-endurance athlete Christian Isakson. Join us as we look closely at the nutrition plan Christian used to fuel himself through this grueling event. While you may not complete an Ironman triathlon soon, what fueled Christian through the EPIC5 just might help fuel you through your day.

While we’re not likely to exercise 12 hours straight anytime soon, we all face epic challenges on various fronts each day. How do you plan for the inevitable stresses, challenges, and obstacles that life brings? Ultra-endurance athlete Christian Isakson learned much from his incredible effort at the EPIC5 Challenge in Hawaii. These lessons have direct application for us and our families. Imagine starting your day at sunrise swimming 2.4 miles, then biking 112 miles, then running 26.2 miles back-to-back-to-back, crossing a finish line that night.  This is known as the Ironman triathlon and these races are held all around the world.  Professional Ironman triathletes finish in just over eight hours, with the “average” finisher completing this amazing test of endurance between 10-14 hours.

Now imagine completing an Ironman distance race for five consecutive days, on five different Hawaiian Islands.  Meet the EPIC5 Challenge and Living Fuel champion Christian Isakson who recently accomplished this Super Human Feat in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.

We sat down with Christian and discovered a man whose passions lie far beyond swim, bike, and run.  How did he do it?  What did he learn?  His answers will encourage, inspire, and motivate you and your whole family.

Dear Living Fuel Family,

What is your “why”?

In other words, exactly why do you want to be healthy, why do you want to lose weight, or why do you want more energy?  Be specific.  Perhaps you’d like to play with your kids without tiring easily, or maybe you want that sense of accomplishment from completing a local 5K road race.  Your ‘why’ is personal to you.  It can motivate, encourage, and inspire you to do great things, and accomplish what you once thought was impossible.

Today on LivingFuelTV, we’re excited to continue our uplifting series Super Human Feat with ultra-endurance athlete Christian Isakson, 2011 finisher of the extraordinary EPIC5 Challenge event in Hawaii.  With great video footage from the scenic EPIC5 course, Christian recounts the great highs and lows he experienced and how he pushed through to the finish line.  His story is amazing, encouraging, and inspiring.  If you’re just joining us for this great series, be sure and watch the otherSuper Human Feat episodes that you’ll find below today’s episode.
