Dear Living Fuel Family,
We hear a lot in the news today about improving our health “naturally.” But what does that mean? What are the best natural methods of healing? And how do they compare with conventional medicine? Monica and I very much prefer natural approaches to maintaining our health. Our family does not use pharmaceuticals except as a last resort (which has not been necessary).
I sat down with my friend Dr. Patrick Purdue this week to talk about natural healing. Dr. Purdue is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and a Naturopathic Doctor. As a primary care provider in the State of Florida, he has a unique insight into health issues families face every day .
Oriental Medicine is much more than acupuncture needles. In fact, that’s only 10% of the healing therapies used in the doctor’s practice. Oriental Medicine also includes internal medicine, nutrition, naturopathy, as well as many other areas of medicine.
With the recent drastic changes in healthcare in this country, it’s important to know that being healthy does not necessarily have to involve drugs or surgery. It is more important than ever to take control of your own health, and Oriental Medicine, Chiropractic, and Naturopathy can play a key role in augmenting and sometimes replacing conventional therapies. I’m excited to bring you this interview with Dr. Purdue because it will shed new light on this ancient practice and on other types of medicine often called “alternative.”
